Puggle Drawbacks: What some Dislike
Although there are many benefits of owning a Puggle, you should also be aware that there are some drawbacks. With that being said, keep in mind that there is no breed that is perfect. No matter what kind of dog you purchase, you are sure to deal with some drawbacks. The nice thing about the Puggle is that the benefits far outweigh any of the downfalls.
So what are some of the drawbacks of owning a Puggle? First and foremost, these dogs have Beagle in their blood. For this reason, you can be rest assured that your dog will have its nose to the ground when outside. Additionally, if it gets the chance to take off after a rabbit or other small animal, it may very well do so. Remember, there is some “field dog” in its genes.
Another thing to keep in mind about the Puggle is that they shed. While this breed does not shed as much as the Pug, you should expect to deal with this a couple of times per year. Although shedding can be an annoying problem for some owners, keep in mind that that you do not have to pay to have your dog clipped. Obviously, this means that you will save a couple hundred dollars per year.
As you can see, there is not much that will push you away from buying a Puggle. This bred is easy going, lovable, and fun to have in the home. As long as you do not care about its “hunting” blood and a bit of dog hair, you should be just fine buying a Puggle.
