Treating your Puggle for Fleas

If you own a Puggle, you will want to keep a close watch for fleas. While flea infestation is most common during the summer months, this is not the only time of the year to keep a watchful eye on your dog. As you can imagine, it is never a good thing when your Puggle gets fleas. Not only can this harm your dog, but it can make for a messy situation in your home as well.

Treating your Puggle for fleas is not as hard as you may think. Not only are there treatments that you can look into if your dog already has fleas, but you can also consider the many preventative measures that are available.

First things first, a good bottle of flea shampoo will come in handy. If your dog is scratching a lot, scrub it good with this type of shampoo. Not only will it get your Puggle clean, but it will also go a long way in killing any fleas that may be present.

To prevent flea infestation, talk to your vet about the many medications that are available. Some flea medications are more popular than others, and your vet will be able to give you what is best. For instance, there are both drops and pills that can be used. With the help of your vet, you can choose which option will work best on your Puggle.

If you are lucky, your Puggle will never get fleas. But with that being said, there is only so much you can do to prevent this. Make sure that you are prepared to deal with this potential issue this summer.
